Noctio

Noctio Privacy Policy

Local listening, limited online activation, and a clear account of the information involved.

Who we are and what this covers

Noctio is developed and published by FrequenSee Labs in Ontario, Canada. This notice explains local app operation, online activation and purchase handling, and information you choose to send for support.

The activation sections describe versions that use the online entitlement service. Earlier test builds may have used local trial state. This notice does not mean that the commercial activation service is already live.

Your sound and sessions stay on your device.

Noctio generates audio on your device. The sound is not streamed from our servers and generated audio is not uploaded to us. Settings, sound preferences, session configuration and the locally stored entitlement are held on the device.

We do not receive your sound settings, listening history, bedtime routine or sleep-stage information through normal app use. Noctio does not require a Noctio account, use advertising identifiers, collect microphone recordings, or include behavioural advertising or app-usage analytics.

Activation and entitlement records

Versions using online activation contact FrequenSee’s entitlement service to issue or recover the 14-day trial and to verify purchased access. These requests use a pseudonymous app/device identifier and the entitlement information needed to associate that installation with access. Pseudonymous means it is not your name; it does not mean the record is inherently anonymous.

The service may hold the identifier, trial start and expiry, entitlement status, relevant app/protocol version, and transaction-verification or recovery records. Requests also expose ordinary network information, including IP address and request time, to the service and its host.

These records are used to administer trial eligibility, verify and restore ownership, prevent duplicate or fraudulent grants, investigate failures and maintain aggregate activation and conversion counts. They are not a record of your sleep or listening activity.

Google Play and purchase handling

Google Play processes Android payments. We do not receive your payment-card or banking details. The app and entitlement service may process the purchase token, product identity, purchase state and related transaction information needed to verify, acknowledge and recover access.

Google handles app distribution, store accounts and transactions under its own terms and privacy policy. Visit Google’s Privacy Policy for its practices.

When a connection is used

A connection is required for activation, purchase and entitlement recovery. Ordinary audio generation and session operation with a valid locally stored entitlement do not require a continuous connection.

Noctio’s public privacy promise should not be read as a claim that the app lacks Android’s Internet permission or can never contact a server.

Information you choose to send

If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments or diagnostic details you provide. We use that information to respond, investigate the issue and maintain necessary support or business records.

Invited tester accounts, where provided, belong to the support service. They are separate from a Noctio app account and do not make human verification a condition of app activation. Do not include passwords, payment-card details or unrelated personal information in a report.

Recipients and disclosure

Our hosting and email providers process information needed to operate these services. Google separately processes store information. We do not sell personal information or provide your listening habits to advertisers.

We may disclose records we actually hold where required by law or valid legal process. We limit collection to the operation being performed rather than collecting a general history of app use.

Retention, deletion and recovery

Local settings can generally be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling Noctio, subject to your device’s backup and restore behaviour. Removing local data does not automatically remove records held by Google or the activation service.

Activation and purchase records are held for trial eligibility, ownership verification, recovery, fraud handling and necessary records. Support correspondence is retained as needed for the request and relevant business or legal obligations. Network logs have a separate operational retention period.

You may ask about access, correction or deletion through the contact below. We will explain any records that need to be retained and why. Deleting information required to establish ownership may affect our ability to recover access.

Children and sensitive data

Noctio is not designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app. Noctio does not measure health, biometric or sleep-stage data.
